PEKANBARU, UTUSANRIAU.CO - Reside in “Sutan Balia” Auditorium, Politics and Social sciences faculty of Riau University (FISIP-UR) holds “Rock The Vote Indonesia” seminary, The young Voters are the future of nation in general election (PEMILU) 2014. Attending the event, Rector of Riau University, Prof, DR, Ashaluddin Jalil, MS, dean of FISIP, Riau University, DR. H. ALi Yusri, M,Si, General Director of Public Protection, Political and Nation Unity Board of Ministry of Home Affairs (Ditjen Kesbangpol Kemendagri), Drs. Lutfi TMA, M.Si, the elected dean of FISIP-UR, Drs, Safri Harto, M.Si, and Student Representatives of several faculties of Riau University.
The seminary which held by FISIP, Riau university cooperates with General Directorate of Public Protection, Political and Nation Unity Board of Ministry of Home Affairs having objectives to deliver comprehension about interest of beginner Voters participation in general election. The ceminary is formally opened by Rector of Riau University, Prof. DR. H.Ashaluddin Jalil, MS by presenting General Director of Public Protection, Political and Nation Unity Board of Ministry of Home Affairs (Ditjen Kesbangpol Kemendagri), Drs. Lutfi TMA, M.Si as Speaker.
Rector of Riau university in his speech says, general election 2014 shall be held on coming July 9, 2014. “The students are one of important components as part of beginner Voters shall become strategic goals in general election 2014. The young Voters are around of 20 % shall also become general election Commision’s goals to deliver messages about the interest of Vote rights in general election.
“The students are critical group, however, shall become irrasional if they don’t use properly their vote rights by having no choice on one of the Candidates is absolutely abuse of vote rights. As speaker’s experience when he was in university, he always attended such seminary like this. This seminary having objectives so that the students using their vote rights and shall not become the Abstain in order to elect and decide their choices on coming general election 2014, he expects.
One of student’s strategic roles, the students should come into walks of life to build rational Voters in walks of life. The young generations are having important roles to smartly involve in general election 2014 to define right and good Leader for Indonesians.
Participants of “Rock the Vote” are students descends from all of Riau University’s students which are 17 to 21 years old, shall be the first time participating in general election 2014, seminary committees says to utusanriau.com. Lutfi TMA, M.Si, in his description explains, “Quite big Votes potential shall become a main focus for our country and educational institution beside political parties to deliver right and good political practices. This country having big roles to deliver political practices to beginner Voters. They are candidates of future Leader for our country. Preparing them by good political practices which is expected to increase our democracy quality” Lutfi says.
Due to that condition to prepare the future of nation and keeping so that general election 2014 running smoothly, and also general election output having properly legitimation to lead our good government, so political education program for Indonesia’s young Voters is very important and urgently required. Low political practices of young Voters are main problem, that’s why, throughout this event, we would like to minimize the Abstain, He says.
General Director of Public Protection, Political and Nation Unity Board of Ministry of Home Affairs, Drs. Lutfi TMA, M.Si, admitted the Leader is presented from political party, so, political practices should become political concern, however, that is not easy to run political party because it needs very big budget.
According to Lutfi, budget supporting of political party is least, it just dedicated to secretariat matters. It is not only APBD supporting, but also APBN supporting for political practices is under valued. Considering these conditions, our sides will make every effort to increase the budget.
